Web3 for Everybody: How to Get Your Free Dot Human NFT Domain

Web3 for Everybody: How to Get Your Free Dot Human NFT Domain

As we all know, the internet was a revolution. It brought about the ability for people to communicate across the world in real-time. It allowed for information to be shared quickly, and it made us feel like we could do anything online. Today, with web3, we are experiencing another major shift in how we use the internet. A shift that will usher in a new era of decentralization, trustlessness, and interoperability.

Web3 for Everybody How to Get Your Free Dot Human NFT Domain

Do you know about the dot human NFT domain for web3? Are you interested in owning one? In this article, we will help you better understand what it is and show you how to get one for free.

What Is Web3?

The last decade has been an absolute explosion of human innovation and creativity. People are building all sorts of interesting new tech that is just now beginning to be realised. One of the most exciting innovations is web3. Web3 is a decentralised version of the internet with more freedom, security, and privacy for you. It’s a network built on blockchain technology that allows for safe and anonymous data sharing by creating a more secure layer of connectivity between devices.

Web3, known as the “Semantic Web,” refers to a decentralised web. In other words, an internet where no single entity has control. The dominant paradigm on the internet today is web2.0, and it is essentially a centralised web. A small number of corporations like Facebook, Google, and Amazon control large swathes of the internet and its functionality. Today they control your data, but in web3, you own your data. You have full control and never have to give up any of your data or privacy to use the web.

Web3 is the future of the internet and has the potential to make the internet a more secure place. Through decentralisation, it can create an internet that is more open and fairer—one where everyone has access to the same content and functions without being subject to gatekeepers.

Web3 includes new technologies that haven’t been widely adopted yet due to their complexity and lack of understanding — blockchain being one of them. It is still in its early days, but its potential applications are endless: from identity management to supply chain traceability to enabling microtransactions for content creators, web3 will change the way we interact with the internet.

Web3 for Everybody: Dot Human NFT Domain

Butterfly Protocol, a decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO) and Cortex Application, a web3 publishing tool, has launched the new “dot human” domain on the web3 and made it available for free. It allows anyone to access .hmn domains for free, which is the equivalent of .com domains on the internet. Once you get a .hmn domain, you can turn it into an NFT (non-fungible token) within minutes to monetise your identity or creations.

NFTs are digital tokens that represent ownership of a piece of digital property. This can be ownership of digital art, music, land on a virtual world, or in this case, ownership of a domain name. NFT domains are currently starting to catch on with the mainstream public and are gaining in popularity.

Dot human NFT domain is the new top-level domains (TLDs) that will allow anyone with an internet connection to get their own domain name without having to pay anything. While the most popular TLDs are expensive, Cortex says “web3 for everyone,” and its new domains will be free forever.

“Domain names are quickly becoming the foundation of web3. All of your activity, from published content to collaborative documents, will be tied to it, and that opens the door to making efficient use of decentralised, person-centric data. A domain is an identity, but also an address for your digital home on web3. We can now provide all that at near-zero cost.” said Leonard Kish, CEO, and Co-founder of Cortex Application.

The Cortex app is being built on top of a human-centric web3 stack, allowing you to use your domain as a vanity URL to replace your wallet address to store tokens. This is made possible by integrating with Polygon, the leading layer 2 solutions for Ethereum.

The .hmn domain is a full NFT domain, allowing you to own your domain in perpetuity while connecting it to other crypto services such as the Ethereum Name Service (ENS). “We are extending and even improving on ENS, allowing lower-cost access via Polygon, a layer 2 for Ethereum. In that way, we are bringing layer 2 to ENS domains. Instead of trying to match features with ENS, we allow .hmn domains to be used anywhere ENS can be used, but at a lower cost.” said Josh Robinson, Founder & Chief Architect of Butterfly Protocol.

The .hmn domain is built to allow full compatibility with existing DNS services on the internet. This means that you do not have to worry about changing servers or website files if you already have an existing website or blog. “While regular DNS points to a server, a .hmn domain points to a human. So, we need these to reach across protocols, just like humans do,” said Robinson.

If you like the idea of having your very own digital space on the Web3 but don’t want to spend a lot of money doing so, this is your opportunity to get in on the ground floor of what may be a game-changing development in internet history.

How to Get Your Free Dot Human NFT Domain?

You can claim your .hmn (“dot human”) domain from the Cortex website or hmn.domains. Here’s how:

1- Go to hmn.domains

2- Click On “Continue with Metamask”.

3- A Custom tweet will be created for you to send out. You need to tweet to claim your free dot human domain.

4- Your Twitter handle will be used as your .hmn domain name (if your Twitter name is @abcd, your domain name will be abcd.hmn).

You will need to wait a few minutes for your new domain name to show up on the hidden section of OpenSea. But it takes a while to show up on NFT after a new domain has been created.

Conclusion

That’s it! This wasn’t all that hard. Applying and receiving a dot human NFTs domain is a fairly painless process, so we hope that this article can help you navigate your way through how to get your own dot human NFT domain, and we encourage you to try it out yourself!

The NFT industry is growing fast and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. But it has a long way to go before they become as popular as other types of cryptocurrencies, but there is no reason why they shouldn’t be. Perhaps the most practical application for NFTs lies in the ownership of web3 domains.

This is more than just a trend; NFTs are here to stay, and if you haven’t already seen the possibilities for yourself, it’s high time that you do. There are many advantages to using NFTs, and we hope that more people discover just how amazing blockchain technology is and how it will improve their lives in the future.

It’s really not clear that .hmn stands alone as a fully functioning domain. Cos it seems from what I’m reading that you can only use it when you make it part of ENS so it is effectively __.hmn.ens ???

Also, how can we know what is web1 ? These terms are annoyingly murky. The graphics doesn’t really help. Why all of these things probably take so long is the assumptions that are made without explaining anything. It’s the exact reason why some people hate math. Leaps in logic that don’t make sense to many people.
