Microsoft Cloud Review

Microsoft Cloud Review

Microsoft is a multinational company that deals with technological devices and software. It is an American-based company that has successfully branched out to different world areas.

Microsoft is responsible for many technological gadgets and online platforms that we see today; they are into smartphone production, tablet production, app design and software development, and lots more.

Microsoft Cloud Review

One of Microsoft’s major technological breakthroughs came with developing an online platform called the Microsoft Cloud, or Microsoft OneDrive.

What is the Microsoft Cloud or Microsoft OneDrive?

The Microsoft Cloud is online storage that allows you to keep your files, pictures, videos, and any other thing. The Cloud was designed to make things easier for you and save space on your devices.

With the Microsoft Cloud, you can easily access tons of your documents or files without taking up storage space on your hardware device.

Apart from the storage ability of the Cloud, it is designed with features that allow you to connect several Microsoft packages and features. This means that you can access multiple functions simultaneously within your cloud account.

The Microsoft Cloud is available for Microsoft, Samsung, and any other android device. However, it is not available on Apple devices as they already have the iCloud option.

How to get the Microsoft Cloud

Most times, when you get your android device, the Microsoft OneDrive should be available on the device, however, if you don’t have the OneDrive on your device, you can log in to it through the internet, or you can download the app.

Accessing the Cloud with your Browser
This method involves you logging into the cloud using your local browser. Since the Microsoft Cloud is an online platform, it is possible to access it from your browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and the likes.

This method is not advisable because it leaves your account open to risks such as hacking or exposure to your sensitive information.

Also, accessing the Cloud with your browser can be quite stressful because you must keep logging in every time you close the browser.

Accessing the Cloud with the OneDrive App
Microsoft has designed a convenient and safe way to access the Cloud, and that is with the OneDrive application. This application is just like any other application, it appears as an icon on your device, and you can open it any time you want.

If your device doesn’t come with the OneDrive, you must download it.

Downloading the OneDrive app
The OneDrive app is available in a wide range of stores, and you can get it from your Google play store, galaxy store, or the Microsoft store directly.

You can easily search for the app in any listed stores and select download.

Starting the OneDrive
Once you’ve downloaded and installed the OneDrive, you can start it up. You will need to log in or sign up.

Logging in is for those that already have an account; all you need to do is input your registered email and password, and you’re good to go.

If you don’t have an account, select create an account, input your desired email and password and select create. After this, your OneDrive account is set up and ready for use.

Features of the Microsoft Cloud or OneDrive

Syncing and backup of files
The Microsoft Onedrive makes it possible for you to sync your device directly to the cloud. This syncing means any file or data you want from your cloud will be saved to your device storage. This feature comes in handy when you just change your device or transfer data from your old device to a new one.

You can also set your device to auto-sync, which automatically gives your OneDrive permission to share data with your device.

The Microsoft Cloud also allows you backup important documents, pictures, and more from your device storage. This feature saves you a lot of space because once you’ve backed up your data to the cloud, you can delete it from your device to get more space for new files.

Anywhere access
With the OneDrive, you can access your files and data saved on the drive anywhere. This means that you can always access data from your cloud irrespective of the device you’re using. All you need to do is log in to your OneDrive account on that device, you don’t even need to sync them to the new device, and you can edit them directly on the drive.

Share and collaborate
You can now share files and documents with friends and family with the Microsoft Cloud. There is no need to download the image, file, or document you want to share to the device you’re logged in on. Instead, you can share it directly from your cloud. All you need is the email address or OneDrive username of whoever you want to share the data.

Also, Microsoft has included a new feature that saves you a lot of data when sharing; this is link sharing. You can now generate a link for whatever you want to share from your drive. You send this link to the recipient’s email or as a text. The link grants access to the recipient, and they can view whatever data the link represents.

The link method reduces your data cost and makes it more convenient to share large files.

Document Scanning
You no longer need to scan apps separately before uploading them to your drive. OneDrive has a scanning feature that allows you to scan documents, receipts, notes, images, and more. Also, whatever you scan is saved directly to your OneDrive instead of your device’s storage.

Personal Vault
Microsoft has provided you with an extra security feature to ensure that your sensitive data is well-protected. Apart from the normal safeguards with the OneDrive, you can now store sensitive information in a more secure location called the OneDrive Personal Vault.

Pricing and plans

If you’re new to OneDrive, there is a free subscription available to everybody. However, this free package has limited online storage of 5GB. If you want more space on your drive, you will need to sign up for one more elaborate subscription.

These subscriptions are divided into home plans and the business plans

Home plans
The home plan starts at $1.99 per month. With this plan, you get a storage capacity of 100GB. You also get partial advanced security, productivity tools, and core features.

The next plan is $69.99 per year. You get to enjoy I TB or 1000GB storage capacity. It also comes with office packages, skype, and other options for the $1.99 package.

The $99.99 per year is more of a family plan, and up to 6 people can use it. Each user gets 1000GB of storage space with the OneDrive Premium features.

Business plans
This plan starts at $5/user per month. It allows for file sharing, and you get storage space.

The next one is the $10/ user monthly. Each user gets extra advanced security and compliance capabilities.

There’s also the Microsoft 365 Business Basic at a rate of $5 user/month. It comes with services like Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams.

Conclusion

The Microsoft cloud has been designed to make things easier for you. You can enjoy more space on your device storage and carry out more functions.

You can pick from any budget-friendly subscription to start enjoying the OneDrive.
