Telstra announces new scam text reporting system
Telstra has announced a new scam text reporting system that will allow customers to report suspicious messages to the company. The system, which is called 7226, is a free service that is available to all Telstra customers.
To use the system, customers simply need to forward the suspicious message to 7226. Telstra will then investigate the message and take appropriate action, if necessary.
The new system is part of Telstra’s ongoing commitment to protecting its customers from scams. In the past year, Telstra has blocked over 20 million scam attempts.
Telstra’s Chief Security Officer, Darren Pawley, said that the new system would help to protect customers from scammers.
“We know that scams are a growing problem,” Pawley said. “This new system will give our customers a simple and easy way to report suspicious messages. We will then investigate these messages and take action to protect our customers.”
The new system is available now. To report a suspicious message, simply forward the message to 7226.
Here are some tips for spotting a scam text:
- The message may ask you to click on a link or provide personal information.
- The message may be poorly written or contain grammatical errors.
- The message may be from a sender you do not recognise.
If you receive a suspicious text, do not click on any links or provide any personal information. Instead, forward the message to 7226.
